Controls Engineer – Siemens / Allen-Bradley PLCs Location: Haslingden, Lancashire Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE Job Type: Permanent Working Pattern: 90–95% Office-Based The Opportunity SC Engineering Group is currently recruiting for a Controls Engineer to join an established and growing automation and machinery manufacturer based in Haslingden, Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Controls Engineer who enjoys PLC software development and is looking for a predominantly office-based position with minimal travel. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, programming and supporting PLC control systems for bespoke automation and special purpose machinery projects. Key Responsibilities * Develop and program PLC software using Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms. * Design, develop and modify control software for automated machinery. * Work with Siemens TIA Portal and Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 / RSLogix. * Develop and integrate HMI systems. * Carry out software testing, debugging and troubleshooting. * Work closely with electrical design, mechanical and project engineering teams. * Support machinery commissioning and occasional customer site visits. * Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Skills & Experience Required * Previous experience as a Controls Engineer, PLC Software Engineer or Automation Engineer. * Strong PLC programming experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley. * Experience working within automation, machinery or special purpose machinery environments. * Knowledge of HMI development and industrial control systems. * Ability to develop PLC software from scratch. * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
