SEN Teacher Opportunity - Specialist Autism School

Reed Education are supporting a specialist autism provision in the Guildford area to recruit a qualified SEN Teacher for an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing specialist setting that supports autistic pupils through highly structured teaching, clear routines and personalised learning approaches. The school is expanding and looking for a dedicated teacher who can create an engaging and predictable learning environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

You will be teaching a higher-ability class of autistic pupils working predominantly at upper Key Stage 2 and lower Key Stage 3 levels. While many pupils are academically capable, they require specialist support with communication, transitions, sensory regulation and daily routines.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Teach a class of autistic pupils across a broad curriculum.
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Develop structured routines and visual supports to promote independence and reduce anxiety.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support communication, sensory and processing differences.
  • Lead and direct Teaching Assistants within the classroom.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and target setting.
  • Work collaboratively with families, therapists and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for pupils.

Please note that personal care may be required as part of the role.

We welcome applications from:

  • Qualified Teachers holding QTS.
  • SEN Teachers with experience supporting autistic pupils.
  • Mainstream Teachers looking to transition into specialist education.
  • SENCOs or SEN Leads seeking a classroom-based specialist role.
  • Teachers from Autism, SLCN, MLD or SEMH settings.
  • Experienced Teachers returning to education following a career break.

What the School Offers

  • A supportive and specialist SEN environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and training.
  • A collaborative leadership team and experienced support staff.
  • Opportunity to secure a permanent position.
  • Modern facilities designed to support autistic learners.
  • The chance to make a genuine difference to pupils' educational journeys.
