Accounts Assistant

£30,000 - £33,000 per annum

Our client, a well-established organisation based in Exeter, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As the Accounts Assistant, you'll take on a varied role across accounts, reconciliations, payroll and financial administration. This is a great opportunity for a detail-focused finance professional to take genuine responsibility, develop their skills and play a key role within a supportive team.

The responsibilities:

• Process sales and purchase invoices accurately
• Manage accounts payable, receivable and credit control
• Complete regular bank and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate records across multiple entities
• Support monthly payroll processing and employee payments
• Process expenses, mileage claims and related documentation
• Assist with VAT, month-end and year-end reporting
• Provide general finance and administrative support as required

The candidate:

• AAT Level 2 qualified or equivalent
• Previous experience using Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll
• Experience working within a multi-entity finance environment
• Strong Excel skills with excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Organised, reliable and confident communicating with colleagues and stakeholders
