The Role

NFU Mutual South Somerset is a modern and dynamic agency, starting a new era as a merged business covering the previous Ilminster and Yeovil agencies.

PLEASE NOTE: this is an office based role and you will need to live within travelling distance for your application to be considered.

We are looking for a key team member to join us on this journey. Please only apply for this role if you are able to meet our requirement of at least 1 year of experience working in insurance or financial services.

Providing exceptional customer service, you will handle enquiries, provide insurance quotations and undertake insurance transactions and general sales tasks with a ‘can-do’ proactive attitude.

You will also maximise inbound sales opportunities, cross selling to existing clients and assisting with renewal retention by using your excellent telephone manner to make the most of every call.

You’ll need to be used to working to targets, and ideally have worked in an insurance or financial services role before.

NFU Mutual South Somerset believes in allowing our team members to grow and develop and as such, we are looking for someone with a desire to grow their career in insurance. In return, we offer a comprehensive training package in-house, and offer further support for professional insurance-based qualifications.

Duties Include

Review and advise upon customer general insurance requirements

Process all customer instructions for policy amendments to meet required completion standards

Identify and initiate cross-selling opportunities and activities to new and existing customers

Acquire and maintain knowledge of NFU Mutual General Insurance products, as applicable to product licences

Obtain appointments for our Financial Advisor

Working within Compliance Framework required by the Company / Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

Use of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel as a minimum.

This successful candidate would need a driving license and their own transport due to the rural location of the office.

Working week:

Monday – Friday 9.00am - 5pm, 1 hour lunch break

25 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays, and an extra day off for your birthday.

Employer contribution to our Nest Scheme when you enroll with employee contributions.
