Nocturnal Recruitment are looking for experienced Care Assistants with previous experience of working with Elderly and Challenging Behavior both physical and verbal required for ongoing shifts across East London. Personal care is a must as some clients are less able than others and need assistance. You should be an effective communicator with a person-centered approach to your care delivery. Your role as a Care Assistant will be supporting residents in all aspects of life to help them achieve dreams and aspirations in all aspects of their life, they can display challenging behavior at times so you must be experienced in providing care and support to individuals who are Elderly and have Mental Health Difficulties. The residential care home has around 40+ people. Supporting people with a range of support needs from low to high; with old age/ dementia, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism/mental health. * Assist with washing, dressing, oral care, toileting and continence of care while maintaining dignity, privacy and choice at all times. * Physically fit due to the need for safe moving & handling of residents, occasionally using equipment to assist you (e.g. hoists or wheelchairs) and you should therefore have up to date Practical Moving & Handling training and experience of using hoists. * Deliver compassionate, person-centered care in line with residents' individual care plans, preferences, routines and assessed needs. * Observe residents' physical and emotional wellbeing, take and record vital signs when required, and report changes or concerns promptly to senior staff. * Encourage independence by enabling residents to complete tasks for themselves wherever safe and appropriate. * Helping to prepare and feed service users with meals and drinks at mealtimes and other times when required. Shift Patterns: * Able to work a fully flexible shift pattern – 7am – 2pm, 2pm – 9pm, and long days * One weekend on, one weekend off You must have: * Have at least 2 years’ experience as a Care Assistant within Elderly Dementia * Must have experience working with client groups of Elderly/Dementia * Must Hold a valid DBS within the last 12 months - preferably registered online or be able to complete a new one Nocturnal Recruitment Solutions: Specialise in the provision of Care & Support Workers, Team Leaders HCAs and other Healthcare industry-specific job roles.
