What it's like to work here

Working for the National Trust in the Peak District offers the opportunity to be part of a passionate and knowledgeable team caring for some of the UK’s most varied and inspiring landscapes, including Ilam Park and Dovedale, Longshaw and the High Peak Estates. You’ll use your skills to play a part in protecting and shaping the future of some of the most iconic places in the National Park. You’ll report into the Visitor Experience Manager and work closely with a range of volunteers and staff.

What you'll be doing

As part of the Visitor Experience team, you'll be focused on developing and delivering projects, events and experiences for a wide range of visitors. You’ll work collaboratively alongside colleagues in the Visitor Experience team and Welcome Team. Your high-quality programmes and high standards of presentation will make sure every visitor has a memorable experience.

Your day-to-day work will include, creating and running seasonal events, managing volunteer groups including guided walks volunteers, developing the visitor journey with a focus on increased access for all and supporting on site interpretation. We want to inspire people to connect, learn and care for nature and heritage through a range of engaging approaches.

Each day could look quite different: Sometimes you'll spend time in the High Peak running drop in events at key visitor locations, and other days you'll be working on key seasonal events such as Easter. Sometimes you may need to get stuck in and help wherever you’re needed, to keep the whole place running smoothly. You’ll be collaborative, self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working within shifting contexts and timelines.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what's possible in this role.
