A well-established independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Tarporley is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join its growing team.
This isn't a role where you'll spend every day processing the same type of client. You'll manage the bookkeeping for a genuinely varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, ranging from trades and hauliers through to farmers, consultants and other SMEs.
The firm is looking for someone who can take ownership of their work, build relationships with clients and, most importantly, get the numbers right rather than simply getting the job done.
The Role:
Maintaining accurate accounting records
Bank and control account reconciliations
Processing purchase and sales transactions
Supporting clients with their bookkeeping queries
Managing bookkeeping across businesses with very different requirements
Working predominantly with Xero
Using other platforms including QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent where required
Working directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
Ensuring records are accurate and up to date
Working independently while having support from the wider team when required
Xero will be the main platform used day-to-day, although experience with other cloud accounting packages would be useful.
The Candidate:
Previous bookkeeping experience within accountancy practice or a multi-client environment
Strong knowledge of Xero
Experience with QuickBooks, Sage or FreeAgent would be advantageous
Excellent attention to detail
The ability to manage your own workload
Confidence dealing directly with clients
A practical and organised approach
The ability to adapt between different clients and industries
