Management Accountant | 6-Month FTC (Potential to Go Permanent) | North-West Norwich

Full-time, on site

I'm working with a client in north-west Norwich that needs a hands-on Management Accountant for an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with real potential to become permanent.

This is an onsite role Monday to Friday and due to my client's location, the successful candidate will need to have their own car and be able to drive to the office.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll take the management accounts to draft stage, keep the balance sheet clean, and tighten the day-to-day processes the finance team relies on.

What you'll do

• Prepare monthly management accounts to draft stage against an agreed timetable, including accruals, prepayments, journals and adjustments
• Review the trial balance, investigate discrepancies and reconcile revenue so transactions land in the right period
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including GRNI, leased vehicles, salary sacrifice and pensions, and daily bank reconciliations
• Post VAT, PAYE, partner costs and other transactions accurately, with a clear audit trail
• Support cash flow reporting and payment controls, statutory and business returns, and controls over fixed assets and inventory
• Spot and fix weaknesses in day-to-day financial processes, and give hands-on support to the wider finance team

What you'll bring

• A track record of preparing management accounts to draft stage, either on your own or as part of a team
• Confidence with balance sheet reconciliations, and the instinct to chase a reconciling item until it's resolved
• Working knowledge of VAT and PAYE postings
• Strong Excel skills and comfort maintaining supporting schedules that stand up to review
• A practical, process-minded approach: you'll leave the ledgers cleaner than you found them
