As a Financial Controller in Basingstoke you will oversee core finance activity for an organisation in the services sector, helping the business maintain clear and reliable financial information. You will manage the Accounting & Finance department to keep reporting accurate and support sound financial decision-making.

The organisation operates in the services sector and is based in Basingstoke.

Description

• Management of a team of 6, ensuring an effective and well-motivated team. Development, coaching and training of staff. Ensuring clear objectives and focussed performance management where required.
• Ownership of month end close process, analysis, and reporting.
• Month end and Year end - Responsibility for month end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and further management information.
• Analyse and interpret financial results to support the board.
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• Organising Internal Forums and preparing/presenting related slides
• Key liaison with external tax advisors in relation to Corporation tax and other tax issues.
• Managing Accounts Payable and business expenses.
• Payroll second line review and oversight
• Processing quarterly VAT returns.
• Oversight of controls on key operational systems and process
• Managing year end and interim audit requests and be the key point of contact for external auditors.
• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, data collection and calculations.

Profile

A successful 'Financial Controller' should have:

• Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial planning capability.
• Experience reviewing financial performance and explaining variances.
• Confidence producing cash flow forecasts and analysing financial data.
• Ability to maintain accurate financial records and improve finance processes.
• Clear communication skills when working with colleagues on financial information.

Job Offer

• Permanent Financial Controller position based in Basingstoke.
• Salary of £80,000 to £90,000. Bonus, enhanced pension and private health
