Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with an ambitious and expanding manufacturing business to recruit a Project Engineer. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of new production facilities, improve existing manufacturing operations and help deliver engineering projects that make a tangible difference.

Working closely with an experienced Engineering Manager, you'll combine practical project engineering with technical design, supporting everything from factory layouts and equipment installations to site expansions and process improvements. With continued investment and future growth, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills, broaden your experience and take on increasing responsibility.

The Opportunity:
As a Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in:
  • Delivering engineering projects: Coordinate factory developments, equipment installations, site modifications and manufacturing improvements.
  • Creating effective factory layouts: Produce and maintain accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings, incorporating equipment positioning, production flow, access requirements and site infrastructure.
  • Supporting installations and commissioning: Work with production teams, contractors and equipment suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to agreed timescales.
  • Improving manufacturing operations: Identify opportunities to enhance factory layouts, production capacity and operational efficiency, integrating equipment such as conveyors, pumps, silos and pipework.
  • Managing technical project requirements: Undertake site surveys, interpret supplier drawings and P&IDs, maintain technical documentation and support project costs, quotations and contractor coordination.
Your work will directly contribute to the development of modern manufacturing facilities, helping the business increase production capacity, improve efficiency and deliver its growth plans.

About You:
We're looking for someone who can bring:
  • Experience in project, mechanical, process or design engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Confidence using 2D AutoCAD to produce factory layouts and engineering drawings, alongside a working understanding of P&IDs.
  • Practical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, plant installations and how machinery, services and infrastructure integrate within a production environment.
  • Experience supporting engineering projects, factory developments, equipment installations or manufacturing improvements.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, contractors and production teams.
  • A proactive, safety-conscious approach and the confidence to solve practical engineering challenges.
Experience in materials handling, bulk processing, automated manufacturing or capital investment projects would be advantageous. An HNC, HND or degree in an engineering discipline is welcomed, although relevant practical experience is equally valued.

You don't need to meet every desirable requirement to be considered. If you bring relevant engineering experience, a willingness to learn and an interest in combining practical project delivery with technical design, we'd encourage you to apply.

The Benefits and Package:
In return, you'll enjoy:
  • Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum.
  • Early Friday finish
  • Professional development: Mentoring and support from an experienced Engineering Manager, with opportunities to strengthen your project management and technical skills.
  • Varied engineering projects: Exposure to new manufacturing facilities, site expansions, production improvements and equipment installations.
  • Career development: Opportunities to take on greater responsibility as the business continues to invest and expand.
How to Apply:
This exciting Project Engineer opportunity is being managed by Consortium Professional Recruitment, a trusted recruitment partner with a Human First approach.

If you're ready to develop your engineering career, contribute to meaningful manufacturing projects and join a business investing in its future, we'd love to hear from you.
