Accounts Technician

Autograph Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Weston-super-Mare, seeking an Accounts Technician to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment. Working with a varied portfolio of clients, you will gain exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping and client advisory work while building strong professional relationships and delivering a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Prepare personal and corporation tax computations and returns.
• Deliver bookkeeping and management accounting services for a diverse client portfolio.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients.
• Complete Companies House and HMRC filings within required deadlines.
• Support clients with day-to-day accounting and taxation queries.

About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience within an accountancy practice and be confident managing a varied workload while maintaining excellent levels of accuracy and client service. You will be organised, proactive and keen to continue developing your technical accounting skills.

You should ideally possess:

• Previous experience working as an Accounts Technician, Accounts Assistant or similar within an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualification, part-qualified status or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT and financial reporting requirements.
• Good working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Word.
