A fast-growing and ambitious accountancy and business advisory firm in Burnley is looking to recruit a Semi-Senior Accountant as part of its continued expansion.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Accountant looking to take the next step, gain broader client exposure, and progress within a firm that has clear growth plans, including a long-term goal of becoming a Top 20 UK practice through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

The Role

The successful candidate will work with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, gaining hands-on experience across accounts, tax, and management reporting, while also beginning to support and supervise more junior staff.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing accounts and financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Processing client records accurately and efficiently
• Preparing management accounts tailored to client needs
• Completing and reviewing VAT returns
• Preparing personal tax returns
• Supporting and supervising junior team members
• Dealing with basic client queries and providing ongoing support
• Assisting with general administration and ad hoc tasks as required

About You

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
• AAT studying or currently studying ACCA
• Experience using IRIS, Xero, and Sage (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to work
• Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
• Professional, discreet, and client-focused
• A team player with ambition to progress

Salary & Benefits

• £28,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
