New Vacancy: Claims Adjuster (Marine, Energy, Casualty)

I am currently partnered with a leading Lloyd's Syndicate who are seeking a Claims Adjuster on a short contract basis for circa 4 months.

This role will be handling a broad range of classes for the Syndicate including Marine, Energy, Construction, Liability and MedMal on a direct and reinsurance basis.

My client is looking for an experienced Claims Adjuster who is immediately available, and has experience within the Lloyd's Market, using ECF and familiar Lloyd's Claims Schemes within the relevant classes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated portfolio of direct and reinsurance claims across Marine, Energy, Liability, Construction and Medical Malpractice, from initial notification through to settlement.
• Review claim notifications, policy wordings and supporting documentation to assess coverage, establish liability and determine appropriate claims handling strategies.
• Ensure claims are handled efficiently and accurately, in line with internal procedures, agreed service standards and relevant authority limits.
• Liaise with brokers, clients, reinsurers, underwriters and external loss adjusters to progress claims, obtain outstanding information and facilitate timely resolutions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date claims files and systems, ensuring all relevant documentation, reserves, payments and case developments are recorded appropriately.
• Monitor claims reserves and settlement recommendations, escalating complex or high-value claims and referring decisions where they exceed delegated authority.
• Support the preparation of claims bordereaux, management information and internal and external reporting requirements.
• Respond promptly to claims-related queries, providing clear updates to relevant stakeholders and maintaining a high standard of customer service.
• Identify potential issues, coverage disputes and complex claims exposures, ensuring these are escalated appropriately and managed in accordance with the business's claims philosophy.
• Work collaboratively with Underwriting, Operations, Finance and other internal teams to support effective claims management across both direct and reinsurance portfolios.
