We're working with a growing, family-run IT services business looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to support its continued expansion.

The business provides a range of technology services to commercial clients, covering managed IT services, cloud solutions and cybersecurity. This role would suit someone who is comfortable identifying new opportunities and wants to play an important part in the growth of an established business.

The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you'll take responsibility for identifying, developing and winning new business opportunities. You'll have the opportunity to map your market, target prospective clients and manage opportunities through the sales process.

Responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and targeting new business opportunities across the IT services market.
• Researching and mapping potential clients, industries and target accounts.
• Proactively generating leads and developing new client relationships.
• Building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
• Managing opportunities from initial contact and discovery through to proposals, negotiation and closing.
• Working with internal technical teams to develop appropriate solutions and proposals for prospective clients.
• Building relationships with key decision-makers and understanding their business and technology requirements.
• Developing a strong understanding of the company's services and identifying opportunities to deliver value to prospective customers.
• Working towards agreed sales targets and contributing to the company's wider growth plans.

About You

We're keen to speak with sales professionals who understand the IT services market and enjoy winning new business.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience in a Business Development, New Business Sales or similar commercial role.
• A background in IT services, managed services, IT support, cloud, cybersecurity or technology solutions.
• Experience of proactively generating new business rather than relying solely on inbound enquiries or an existing client base.
• The ability to research markets, identify target accounts and develop new relationships.
• Experience managing a sales pipeline and progressing opportunities through to completion.
• Confidence engaging with business decision-makers and understanding their requirements.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• A motivated, proactive approach and the ambition to achieve and exceed sales targets.
