Echelon Engineers is recruiting on behalf of a client, a well-established, privately owned manufacturer of bespoke special-purpose machinery for a range of process industries. They are known for strong engineering and customer service and are expanding their design team. The role * Take new designs from concept to completion, working with the sales and production teams * Produce 3D CAD models, detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs and technical documentation * Make sure designs meet customer specifications, manufacturing requirements and relevant safety standards * Get involved hands-on with build, testing and new product development * Visit customer sites when needed Essential * Engineering degree or HNC/HND * Mechanical design experience in a bespoke machinery environment * 2D/3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo or AutoCAD) * Experience building and fault-finding pneumatic circuits * Confident dealing with customers, suppliers and in-house manufacturing Desirable * Design of conveyors or automated handling equipment * PDM/Vault experience * Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical control systems
