We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Site Assistant to support a busy school in the RG12 area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, reliable individual with maintenance, caretaking, facilities, or general DIY experience.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school remains safe, secure, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and locking school buildings and gates.
• Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs.
• Assisting with furniture moves and room set-ups for classrooms, meetings, and events.
• Undertaking routine health and safety checks around the site.
• Reporting maintenance issues and hazards.
• Supporting the cleanliness and appearance of school grounds.
• Assisting with deliveries and distributing supplies around the school.
• Monitoring contractors working on site.
• Ensuring the school remains safe, secure, and operational throughout the day.
• Responding to ad-hoc site requests from staff and management.

About You

• Previous experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance, estates, site support, or a similar role is desirable.
• Practical DIY and maintenance skills.
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Able to carry out manual handling duties when required.
• Understanding of health and safety practices.
