This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of an in-house translation service, helping to bring previously outsourced translation work into the business. The role will focus on translating a backlog of documents, as well as legal contracts and other business-critical materials. You will play an important part in ensuring that translations are not only accurate but also reflect the cultural nuances and context of the relevant languages.
Key Responsibilities
Translate a range of documents, including product-related materials, legal contracts and other business documentation.
Ensure translations are accurate, clear and appropriate for the intended audience.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of cultural differences and linguistic nuances, ensuring these are reflected naturally in translated content.
Maintain consistency in terminology, tone and style across all documents.
Work through an existing backlog of documents efficiently, typically taking around three hours to translate each document.
Provide input into the trial of translation memory tools, sharing experience of tools previously used and recommending suitable solutions where appropriate.
Applicants should have proven experience in translation, ideally within a corporate, commercial or professional services environment. In addition, an excellent written language skills and a strong command of the relevant source and target languages.
