SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist secondary school in Hertfordshire, supporting pupils aged 11-16 with social, emotional and mental health SEMH needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and achieve their potential.

The Role

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Support emotional regulation, positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Assist teachers in delivering accessible lessons and adapting learning resources.
• Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
• Work collaboratively with staff to support pupils' academic and personal development.

The Ideal Candidate

• Patient, empathetic and resilient.
• Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
• Confident in managing challenging situations calmly and positively.
• An effective communicator and team player.
• Experienced in SEN, SEMH or behavioural support, or keen to develop their skills.

Experience in a specialist school or similar setting is desirable but not essential.
