Private Sector Housing Officer A local authority in Dorset are seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an officer with strong housing enforcement and compliance experience who can hit the ground running and support a busy service. Key Responsibilities * Undertaking HHSRS inspections and producing associated reports. * Carrying out mandatory HMO licensing inspections. * Managing cases relating to the Renters' Rights Act and wider private sector housing legislation. * Investigating housing compliance issues and taking appropriate enforcement action where necessary. * Handling a range of additional private sector housing matters including: * Statutory nuisances * Electrical Safety Regulations * Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) * General housing standards and compliance work Requirements * Previous experience working within Private Sector Housing for a local authority. * Strong knowledge of HHSRS, housing enforcement, and HMO licensing. * Ability to manage complex cases independently.
