Finance Manager - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Slough, Berkshire (hybrid, 3 days per week in the office)

£65,000-£70,000 pro rata

The opportunity

Our client is a well-established, specialist technology business and part of a larger international group. They are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of US reporting on a 6-month fixed term basis. You will be the main finance contact for the US operations, making sure reporting is accurate, timely and insightful, and working closely with finance colleagues on both sides of the Atlantic.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting cycle for the US entity or entities
• Prepare and review US management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders
• Review month-end journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Manage the submission of results to group reporting deadlines, including intercompany reconciliations
• Act as the main point of contact for US finance and operational teams, providing financial insight and challenge
• Support budgeting and forecasting for the US business
• Liaise with auditors and support audit and tax requirements
• Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes and controls
• Support the wider UK finance team as required

About you

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior Management Accountant role
• Strong knowledge of management and statutory reporting, ideally with exposure to US operations and reporting (US GAAP knowledge is a plus)
• Experience of group or multi-entity reporting, ideally within a manufacturing or technology environment
• Confident communicator who can work with stakeholders at all levels, including across time zones
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with an ERP or consolidation system
• Hands-on and able to hit the ground running in a short-term assignment
