Toolroom Operative West Bromwich Salary: £33,566 per annum Full Time | Permanent Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm / Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm Join a Well-Established Manufacturing Business We are currently recruiting for an experienced Toolroom Operative to join a busy and well-established manufacturing operation based in West Bromwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual with experience of pre-pierce and cut-off tooling, who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and takes pride in maintaining tooling to the highest standards. The Role As a Toolroom Operative, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and manufacture of tooling components used within the production process. You will play a key role in ensuring tooling performance, minimising downtime and supporting production quality standards. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain and repair pre-pierce and cut-off tools. Strip, inspect and rebuild tooling as required. Diagnose tooling faults and carry out corrective actions. Sharpen and replace punches, dies and wear components. Manufacture replacement parts using conventional toolroom machinery. Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production tooling. Work closely with production teams to resolve tooling-related issues. Maintain accurate records of tool repairs and modifications. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures. Candidate Requirements Previous experience working within a toolroom or press tooling environment. Strong knowledge of pre-pierce and cut-off tooling. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience using manual toolroom machinery and measuring equipment. Knowledge of press tooling maintenance, repairs and fault finding. Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
