Finance Manager

• Location: Detling, ME14
• Job Type: Temporary (Minimum of 5 weeks)
• Hours: 35 hours per week, 9am - 5pm (flexible start and finish times)
• Salary: £20.88 per hour PAYE or £27.23 per hour Umbrella
• Work Environment: Full-time and office-based

Reed Accountancy & Finance is currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a business in the Maidstone area. This temporary position is ideal for a hands-on Finance Manager, Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function and is confident managing accounts through to trial balance.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Manage sales ledger and purchase ledger.
• Process supplier payments and CHAPS payments.
• Handle daily banking and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Process payroll and post journals.
• Manage debtors and creditors.
• Reconcile ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
• Prepare the accounts through to trial balance.
• Support with other finance and accounting duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Accountant, Accounts Manager or Senior Bookkeeper.
• Strong understanding of transactional accounting and bookkeeping processes.
• Experience of Sage.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Comfortable working across all areas of the finance function.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
