Management Accountant

Daventry, Northamptonshire

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum

Full-time, Office-based

Are you an ambitious, part-qualified accountant looking for more than just another month-end reporting role?

Macildowie is exclusively partnering with a rapidly growing, multi-entity business in Daventry to recruit a Management Accountant into its expanding finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join at a pivotal stage, gain exposure to a commercially driven environment and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of the finance function. Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with senior finance leadership, you'll take ownership of core accounting responsibilities while supporting the development of processes, systems and reporting across the wider group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting across multiple group entities.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Produce financial analysis, variance reporting and management information to support business decisions.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
  • Work closely with the transactional finance team to ensure accuracy across accounts payable and receivable.
  • Support VAT, audit and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting.
  • Contribute to systems development and wider finance transformation projects.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior finance colleagues as the team develops.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA status, with a desire to continue progressing towards qualification. Qualified accountants will also be considered.
  • Hands-on experience preparing management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, journals and reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data analysis.
  • Experience using accounting software, ideally Xero, although this isn't essential.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to challenge existing processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across a finance team.

Interested? If you're a motivated accountant looking for a role where you can challenge yourself, broaden your experience and develop your career within a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
