SEN Teaching Assistant - Redbridge

Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Until July 2027, with the potential to go permanent
Pay: £93-£120 per day

Are you someone who loves helping children discover their strengths and grow in confidence? Academics are looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Redbridge.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children and adapting their approach to suit individual needs. You'll provide focused support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them feel comfortable in the classroom, engage with learning and become increasingly independent.

Making a difference, one step at a time

Every child learns differently, and the right support can make a huge difference to their school experience. You'll help a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) navigate the school day, understand routines and participate in activities in a way that works for them.

Working closely with the class teacher and wider team, you'll help create a positive, structured environment where the pupil feels supported and encouraged to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individualised support throughout the school day.
  • Helping the pupil access classroom activities and learning opportunities.
  • Supporting communication, social interaction and independence.
  • Establishing consistent routines and offering reassurance when needed.
  • Celebrating achievements and encouraging positive progress.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers to provide consistent support.

Who would suit this role?

We're looking for someone patient, observant and enthusiastic about helping children with additional needs. Previous experience supporting pupils with ASD or other SEN is beneficial, alongside a calm and adaptable approach.

What's on offer?

  • £93-£120 per day, depending on experience.
  • ASAP start until July 2027.
  • Potential for a permanent position afterwards.
  • Valuable experience supporting a pupil on an individual basis.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to a child's confidence and development.

If you're passionate about inclusive education and want to help a child thrive, we'd love to hear from you!
