Freelance QHSE Manager - Transport & Infrastructure 3-Month Contract Nottingham – Hybrid working with 4 days on site Immediate Start An opportunity to make a real difference to operational safety. I'm working with a major transport and infrastructure operation looking for an experienced QHSE professional to provide interim support during an important period for the business. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to operations, influencing decision-makers and turning health and safety requirements into practical improvements on the ground. You'll work alongside engineering, operational and safety leadership teams, helping strengthen the safety culture across a complex, safety-critical environment. With a relatively small team, your experience, initiative and ability to build relationships will make a genuine difference from day one. What makes this opportunity interesting? Real influence: Work directly with operational managers to improve safety ownership and accountability across the business. Varied operational exposure: Support teams spanning engineering, infrastructure, depot operations, control functions and customer-facing services. A chance to improve standards: Identify gaps in existing safety arrangements and help implement practical, sustainable improvements. A hands-on role: Spend time in the operation, understand the risks first-hand and work alongside the people responsible for delivering the service. Immediate impact: Take ownership of key safety priorities and provide experienced support during a critical three-month period. What we're looking for in a QHSE Manager I am keen to speak with a credible Health & Safety professional who can quickly understand an operation, build trust with managers and confidently challenge where necessary. You'll ideally bring: A NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum. A strong understanding of health and safety legislation and how to apply it in a live operational environment. Experience developing, reviewing or implementing Safety Management Systems. The ability to identify operational risks, investigate incidents and drive meaningful corrective actions. Confidence influencing managers and improving safety awareness where standards or engagement need strengthening. Experience within rail or transport would be advantageous, but I am equally interested in people from engineering, construction, infrastructure or facilities management who understand complex operational risks. Ready to make an impact? If you're an experienced H&S professional available immediately and looking for a short-term contract where you can make a tangible difference to operational safety, I'd be keen to speak with you. Ganymede is committed to creating a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of age, disability, gender, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation
