Hays Building Services are working with a well-established engineering consultancy in Cardiff that is looking to appoint a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing team.This is an excellent opportunity to become involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects across the commercial, healthcare, education, residential, industrial and public sectors. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and project leaders in a collaborative environment, helping to deliver innovative and sustainable building services solutions.
Your new role

• Designing mechanical building services systems including HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and domestic water services.
• Producing technical calculations, specifications and reports.
• Developing designs using industry-standard software including Revit and AutoCAD.
• Working closely with electrical, public health and sustainability engineers to deliver coordinated designs.
• Attending client and design team meetings.
• Supporting projects from concept through to completion.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working within a UK building services consultancy environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical building services design principles and current regulations.
• Experience using design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, IES, Hevacomp or similar.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• HNC/HND or Degree qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A desire to progress your career towards Senior Engineer and Chartered status.
