Astro Education is working with a secondary school in South Manchester to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic QTS-qualified Business Studies Teacher to join their team.

We are looking for a confident and knowledgeable teacher who can deliver engaging Business Studies lessons across KS3 and KS4, inspire students to develop their understanding of the business world, and support them in achieving their full academic potential.

This is a full teaching role, involving lesson planning, delivery, assessment and marking. The successful candidate will take responsibility for their classes, ensuring lessons are well structured, engaging and aligned with the curriculum.

The Role

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Business Studies lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach the relevant curriculum, developing students' knowledge of business, enterprise, finance and the wider commercial world.
• Take full responsibility for lesson planning, preparation, assessment and marking.
• Prepare KS4 students for GCSE Business Studies examinations.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
• Maintain strong classroom management and promote a positive learning environment.
• Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving and real-world application of business concepts.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum delivery and raise attainment.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community and students' overall development.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or is an ECT working towards completing their induction.
• Has experience teaching Business Studies within a secondary school setting, with ECTs also encouraged to apply.
• Is confident delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Business Studies.
• Is experienced in, or ready to take responsibility for, planning, marking and assessment.
• Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Can deliver engaging lessons that motivate students and encourage independent thinking.
• Is organised, proactive and committed to raising student achievement.
• Can build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Is reliable, enthusiastic and committed to providing high-quality teaching.
