Locum Information Governance Officer – Full Time – Remote Working – Up to £40 per hour umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Information Governance Officer to join a reputable Local Authority on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and friendly team, providing key support across a range of data protection matters.

Role Details:

Position: Locum Information Governance Officer

Working Arrangement: Full-Time, fully remote working

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: Up to £40 per hour umbrella

Duties may include:

• Manage and coordinate FOI and EIR requests, ensuring they are responded to within statutory timescales
• Liaise with departments and service managers to obtain relevant information and ensure timely responses
• Draft, review and issue responses to FOI and EIR requests
• Identify and apply relevant exemptions where appropriate
• Monitor outstanding requests, identify potential delays and proactively manage the caseload accordingly
• Support Senior Officers with wider data protection matters when required

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience working within Information Governance, preferably in a Local Government setting
• Strong working knowledge of Data Protection Legislation, FOI and SAR processes
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and provide clear and practical advice
