MEP Design Engineer – Data Centre Construction Location: France Salary: €70,000–€80,000 Package: Accommodation, rotation, travel and €28,000 annual living allowance Employment: Full-time, site-based Eligibility: EU passport holders only We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Engineer to join a major data centre construction project in France. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale, technically complex mission-critical development, supporting the design, coordination and delivery of mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, contractors and construction teams to ensure building services designs are technically compliant, fully coordinated and suitable for installation. The position also offers an attractive expatriate package, including accommodation, rotation, travel and a €28,000 annual living allowance, alongside the potential for favourable French expatriate tax treatment for eligible candidates. Key Responsibilities * Develop, review and coordinate MEP design packages for large-scale data centre projects. * Review mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications and technical submissions. * Coordinate building services designs with structural, architectural and civil disciplines. * Ensure MEP designs comply with project specifications, relevant standards and applicable French and European regulations. * Support the design of HVAC, power distribution, lighting, fire protection and public health systems. * Identify and resolve design clashes, discrepancies and technical issues. * Participate in design reviews, technical workshops and coordination meetings. * Liaise with clients, consultants, specialist subcontractors and construction teams. * Review technical documentation, equipment specifications and material submissions. * Support value engineering and design optimisation while maintaining performance and compliance requirements. * Ensure designs are coordinated with construction sequencing and installation requirements. * Assist with technical queries, RFIs and design changes throughout project delivery. * Support commissioning teams by ensuring design documentation and technical requirements are properly addressed. Requirements * Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline. * Previous experience in an MEP Design Engineer or similar role. * Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems. * Experience working on large-scale construction or engineering projects. * Data centre or mission-critical project experience is essential. * Knowledge of MEP design coordination, technical specifications and construction drawings. * Experience using relevant design and engineering software. * Strong communication and coordination skills. * Ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams. * Valid EU passport is essential.
