Salary: £50,000–£55,000

The business is going through a period of rapid growth and transformation. It is now looking for a hands-on Financial Controller who can shape the finance function, strengthen its processes and make a real impact as the business develops.

You will report to a supportive and forward-thinking Director and work closely with the senior leadership team. The business has a strong team ethos, low staff turnover and an excellent reputation in its sector.

What will you be doing?

You will take responsibility for the company’s financial performance, helping to drive profitability and support the strategic plans of the business.

This is a visible, hands-on role with a balance of financial leadership and operational involvement. You will manage a small finance team, oversee high-volume transactional processes and work closely with Directors and colleagues across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading day-to-day transactional finance processes in a high-volume environment

• Overseeing financial planning, reporting and the communication of financial results

• Managing cashflow and cost control, monitoring financial performance and complete management accounts for 4 operating entities

• Identifying and implementing improvements to finance processes and controls

• Providing hands-on support and problem-solving across the wider business

• Working with Directors and stakeholders to explain the numbers and inform decisions

The role will continue to develop as the business grows. It would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, combining technical finance with commercial thinking, and helping a business improve how it works.

What would make you a good fit?

Ideally, you will be fully qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), though strong candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.

You are likely to have:

• Experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior, hands-on finance role

• Experience leading or developing a small finance team

• A strong technical grounding alongside a practical, commercial approach

• Confidence managing high-volume transactions and improving finance processes

• Strong Excel skills and experience using Xero or Sage would be an advantage

• Experience in manufacturing or engineering would be useful, but is not essential
