Assistant Management Accountant, 6-Month Fixed Term Contract

Slough, Berkshire (Hybrid 3 days/week in office)

£35-40,000 pro rata

The opportunity

Our client is a well-established, specialist technology business and part of a larger international group. They are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month fixed term basis. You will support the monthly reporting cycle and the wider finance function at a busy period.

Key responsibilities

• Support the month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Help prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis
• Maintain the fixed asset register and process depreciation
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations and group reporting submissions
• Support the purchase ledger, sales ledger and cash management as required
• Help with budgeting and forecasting
• Provide ad hoc support to the Management Accountant and Finance Manager
• Contribute to process improvements and audit preparation

About you

• Experience in a similar finance or accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing or technology environment
• Part-qualified or studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA (or equivalent), or qualified by experience
• A good understanding of month-end processes and double-entry bookkeeping
• Strong Excel skills; experience with an ERP or accounting system is desirable
• Accurate, organised and comfortable working to tight deadlines
• A proactive team player with good communication skills
