Project Manager – Industrial Unit Fit-Out Location: Bedford, Bedfordshire Day Rate: £350–£400 per day Contract: Freelance / Contract Duration: Immediate start until May 2027 Project Value: £10 million Start Date: ASAP The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a major industrial unit fit-out project in Bedford, with a project value of approximately £10 million. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and commercially aware Project Manager with a strong background in industrial, commercial or large-scale construction fit-out projects. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. This is an immediate requirement, with the contract running through to May 2027. Key Responsibilities * Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the industrial unit fit-out. * Manage subcontractors, site teams, suppliers and key stakeholders. * Develop, monitor and maintain project programmes, ensuring critical milestones are achieved. * Oversee health and safety, quality control and site compliance. * Manage project budgets, costs, variations and commercial reporting. * Coordinate all fit-out activities, ensuring works are delivered efficiently and to specification. * Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reports to the client and senior management. * Identify and resolve project risks, delays and operational issues. * Ensure the project is delivered in line with contractual requirements and agreed deadlines. * Manage commissioning, snagging and handover activities as required. Requirements * Proven experience as a Project Manager within the construction industry. * Demonstrable experience delivering industrial, commercial or large-scale fit-out projects. * Experience managing projects of significant value, ideally £5 million or above. * Strong knowledge of construction programmes, subcontractor management, health and safety and quality assurance. * Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. * Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage project costs effectively. * Ability to start at short notice.
