Location: Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire (CB23)

Pay: £140 – £200 per day

Hours: Part-time, Monday to Friday, 9am – 3pm

Contract: Temporary, ongoing

Start date: ASAP

Positions: Tutors, Learning Support Assistants and Teaching Assistants

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting SEN Tutors and Learning Support Assistants for an education hub in Bar Hill, just off the A14 north-west of Cambridge. You'll work with young people who have a range of learning needs, including SEN and SEMH, in small groups where each learner follows a personalised plan. The day runs from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. You don't need a teaching qualification for these roles.

About the Setting

The hub is a small education provision for young people who learn best with more individual attention than a mainstream classroom can offer. Groups are kept small so that staff can plan each session around a learner's needs, pace and interests.

The Role

  • Deliver tutoring and learning sessions to individual young people and small groups
  • Support learners with SEN and SEMH needs to settle, focus and complete their work
  • Adapt activities and resources to each young person's personalised learning plan
  • Help learners build steady routines across the day
  • Record progress and share observations with the hub's staff team

What You'll Need

  • Experience supporting young people in education, tutoring, youth work or a similar setting
  • Experience with SEN or SEMH is helpful but not essential
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car, due to the hub's location
  • No teaching qualification is required

You'll be patient, dependable and calm, with a nurturing and consistent approach to young people with additional needs.
