The role You’ll play an important part in delivering specialist structural engineering services to timber frame and SIPs manufacturers and suppliers across the UK. Working with an experienced team, you’ll undertake structural analysis, calculations and technical reviews for a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects. Your responsibilities will include: * Preparing structural calculations and engineering reports in accordance with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations. * Assessing structural load paths, point loads, wind and snow loading, racking resistance and connection requirements. * Reviewing architectural and structural information to identify practical, economical engineering solutions. * Providing specialist technical advice and responding to engineering queries from clients and colleagues. * Collaborating with other engineers to maintain high standards of technical accuracy and quality. * Contributing to the development of internal engineering processes and continuous improvement. * Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers where appropriate. About you We’re looking for an experienced structural engineer with a strong background in timber frame engineering who can make an immediate contribution to our projects. Essential experience and qualifications * A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. * Proven professional experience in timber frame structural engineering, including the analysis and design of timber frame structures. * Demonstrable experience producing structural calculations for timber frame residential or commercial projects. * Strong understanding of timber frame load paths, racking resistance, lateral stability and connection design. * Working knowledge of Eurocode 5, relevant British Standards and UK Building Regulations. * Competence using structural engineering calculation and analysis software. * Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and identify practical engineering solutions. * Confidence working independently, managing technical responsibilities and contributing effectively from the outset. * Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. Desirable experience * Experience with structural insulated panels (SIPs). * Familiarity with MasterSeries, iCalc Xpress, EuroBeam, IDEA StatiCa, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds or similar software. * Experience working with timber frame manufacturers or offsite construction businesses. * Experience reviewing calculations and supporting junior engineers.
