Finance Manager / Practice Accountant | Central London

Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a leading award-winning architectural practice to recruit a Finance Manager / Practice Accountant.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional looking for a broad role with genuine ownership across the entire finance function. Working closely with the Principals, you'll play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, improving financial processes, and driving commercial insight across the business.

The Opportunity

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function whilst providing detailed management information, budgeting support and commercial analysis to help drive business performance.

This is a varied position that offers exposure to all aspects of finance, including:

• Production of monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts and financial reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Revenue recognition and project accounting
• Payroll, VAT, pensions and statutory compliance
• Sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control
• Business partnering with senior stakeholders
• Financial planning and commercial analysis
• Managing audits and year-end processes
• Supporting systems improvements, automation and AI-driven reporting initiatives

About You

We're keen to speak with individuals who possess:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (QBE candidates will also be considered)
• Strong management accounting experience
• Previous experience working within an SME environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement

Nice to Have

• Experience within architecture, construction, engineering or project-based businesses
• Exposure to project accounting and revenue recognition
• Experience working with Xero or project accounting systems
