Forklift Driver (Counterbalance / Front Loader) – Temporary to Permanent

Location: Birmingham
Hours of Work:

• Monday–Thursday: 7:30am – 5:15pm (45-minute unpaid break, 9 hours worked)
• Friday: One Friday every 3–4 weeks, 7:15am – 4:00pm
• Average weekly hours: approx. 36–45 hours

Pay Rate: £13 – £14.50 per hour DOE

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver to support day-to-day yard, warehouse, and production operations within a busy timber manufacturing environment. The role primarily involves operating counterbalance or front loader forklifts, with training available on specialist equipment for the right candidate.

This is an active, hands-on role suited to someone comfortable working with heavy or long materials and supporting production flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating counterbalance and/or front loader forklifts safely
• Moving stock, raw materials, and finished products around the site
• Loading and unloading deliveries
• Supplying production and machining areas as required
• Stacking materials safely in yard or warehouse locations
• Completing daily forklift safety checks
• Supporting general yard and warehouse duties
• Working in line with site health & safety procedures at all times

Essential Skills & Experience

• Valid forklift licence (Counterbalance or Front Loader – RTITB / ITSSAR / AITT)
• Previous experience working in a warehouse, yard, or manufacturing environment
• Experience handling heavy, awkward, or long loads preferred
• Good awareness of health & safety requirements
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and flexibility
