Our client, a well-established care provider based in Southend-on-Sea, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Officer on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a busy and supportive finance team, with the role expected to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the smooth running of supplier payments, client accounts and financial administration processes.

The position would suit someone who is highly organised, proactive and confident managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities within a fast-paced environment.

• Full management of the accounts receivable process across all clients
• Full management of accounts payable, ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time
• Processing invoices including matching, batching and coding
• Managing payment runs and maintaining accurate financial records
• Chasing outstanding payments and liaising with clients regarding overdue balances
• Handling supplier queries and resolving invoice/payment discrepancies efficiently
• Managing petty cash processes and reconciliations
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc finance and administrative duties where required
• Maintaining strong communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders

• Previous experience within a finance-focused role covering AP and AR duties
• Confident using Excel, ideally at an intermediate to advanced level
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Ability to prioritise workload effectively and work to deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with clients and suppliers
• Experience within a care, healthcare or service-led environment would be advantageous, but is not essential
