We are working with a well-established automotive business to recruit a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their workshop team in Northallerton. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic or technician to work with modern diagnostic technology, carry out servicing, repairs, and vehicle health checks, and contribute to a high-performing aftersales operation.

Full manufacturer training and accreditation opportunities are available, including hybrid and electric vehicle training, supporting long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out vehicle health checks using the latest diagnostic tools and technology
  • Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs in line with manufacturer standards
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults, including basic diagnostics
  • Complete warranty repairs and ensure accurate documentation is maintained
  • Fit accessories and carry out minor repairs where required
  • Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and ensure quality standards are met
  • Complete all job cards, service records, and associated paperwork accurately
  • Work collaboratively with the workshop team to ensure efficient workflow and high service standards

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic (main dealer or independent garage)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to manufacturer and industry standards
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement

Additional Information:

Salary: OTE up to £50,000+ (Uncapped)

Basic salary: £28,000 – £43,000 (depending on qualifications & experience)

Plus £3,000 Productivity Bonus + Time Saved Bonus Scheme

Working hours: 40 hours between Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm, plus 1 in 3 Saturdays 8:30am - 12:30pm
