Assistant Financial Accountant – Temporary 6mnths
Location: Commutable from Coalville, Ashby, NW Leics areas  
Working arrangements: Hybrid – M-Wed in office, Thurs-Fri from home
Duration: minimum 6months initially

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join a friendly, and experienced finance team. This role offers exposure to a wide range of accounting activities and the chance to contribute to ongoing business transformation projects within a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cashbook postings
• Investigate and resolve unallocated cash and open items
• Process Direct Debits and ensure accurate recording
• Administer employee fuel cards and expense cards
• Maintain and manage the employee expense system
• Prepare and process monthly expense payments
• Complete and submit monthly Office for National Statistics (ONS) surveys
• Support ad hoc finance projects
• Contribute to ongoing system and process improvements during a period of business change

Working Relationships

• Collaborate closely with finance colleagues across multiple locations
• Liaise with accounts payable teams regarding supplier invoices and payments

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a similar finance role as an Assistant Account with excellent understanding of debits and credits
• Experience with journal postings and bank reconciliations, and ideally expenses
• Strong Excel skills
• Good communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams
• Experience of different finance systems
• Ideally studying or previously studied AAT, or pq ACCA/CIMA
• Available to start a role ASAP
