Associate Tutor – Catering Lead (Alternative Provision / SEN)

Are you a passionate catering professional ready to step out of the kitchen and into a role that truly changes lives?

We’re looking for an Associate Tutor – Catering Lead to deliver hands-on learning and inspire students in an alternative provision setting. This role is perfect for someone who wants to combine their catering expertise with making a real difference to young people with additional needs and behavioural challenges.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering the BTEC Catering qualification through engaging, practical lessons
  • Leading kitchen sessions and supporting students to develop life and employability skills
  • Preparing and managing breakfast club and school lunches
  • Maintaining a safe, organised, and compliant kitchen environment
  • Supporting students with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs
  • Building strong relationships and acting as a positive role model and mentor
  • Working closely with teaching staff, leadership, and external agencies
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students achieve their potential

What we’re looking for:

  • Background in catering, hospitality or professional kitchens
  • Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, youth work, or similar)
  • Strong behaviour management or a genuine passion to develop it
  • Patient, resilient, and confident managing challenging situations
  • A team player with a proactive and adaptable approach
  • Level 2 Maths & English (or equivalent)
