Location: London / Hybrid (5 days initially and then move to 4-days in the office)

Contract: Temporary (6-months)

Salary: £20–22 per hour + Holiday Pay

MLC Partners are supporting a leading Russell Group University in the recruitment of an interim Programme Administrator. This is a busy and varied role within a higher education setting, supporting academic programmes, student administration, and departmental operations. The successful candidate will work closely with academic staff, students, and professional services teams to ensure the smooth delivery of programme and administrative activity.

The Role

This role would suit an organised and proactive administrator with previous experience supporting complex administrative processes within a university or education environment. You will be responsible for coordinating a range of programme and student-related activities, ensuring records are accurately maintained and providing a high level of support to both staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the administration and coordination of academic programmes and departmental activities
  • Acting as a key point of contact for students, academic staff, and external stakeholders
  • Maintaining and updating student records, databases, and internal systems accurately
  • Supporting processes relating to enrolment, assessments, timetabling, attendance, and progression
  • Assisting with the organisation of meetings, committees, and academic events, including preparing agendas and minutes
  • Monitoring shared inboxes and responding to queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Preparing reports, documentation, and correspondence for internal stakeholders
About You:
  • Previous experience working within higher education, or a similar public sector or regulated administrative environment, either within the UK or internationally
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Experience supporting student administration, programme coordination, or academic operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong stakeholder management abilities
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and student record systems/databases
  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
