Join our dedicated client in their weekend team as a Street Scene Operative and play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our borough. This position involves comprehensive street cleansing and grounds maintenance duties, ensuring high standards are met to keep our neighbourhoods welcoming for both residents and visitors.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Perform street cleansing and general grounds maintenance tasks across the borough.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, handling tasks that vary with seasonal needs and service requirements.
  • Safely operate tools, vehicles, and equipment, and report any faults or hazards.
  • Provide a professional, customer-focused service, representing the council positively in the community.
  • Support emergency and standby arrangements as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-skilled team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in outdoor work or manual duties is highly beneficial.
  • A good understanding of basic health and safety practices.
  • Strong team-working skills and the ability to interact positively with the public.
  • Willingness to engage in further training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • A driving licence is desirable but not essential.
