Our client is a local government organisation and looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right candidate

You will

*Hybrid Working

* Must have TPP Certification certificate

* Must be conversant and currently practicing procurement activity in a children's and public health public sector environment adhering to the Procurement Act 2023 and Procurement Regulations 2024

* Must be experienced in Childrens & Public Health Procurement

To provide strategic and operational support to the Manager for Commissioning & Procurement (Children’s & Public Health) by leading on commissioning and procurement projects and activity within the Children’s & Public Health area and wider Strategic Commissioning & Procurement function by undertaking duties commensurate with the level of the post as required.

Preparation and delivery of commissioning and procurement activity plans

Provision of procurement expertise in terms of regulatory, commercial advice & guidance to Children’s & Public Health directorate for commissioning and procurement activity.

Develop, lead and deliver tender exercises and commissioning projects for higher value/risk procurement projects within the agreed Children’s & Public Health service commissioning programme. Develop, lead and deliver category and sub-category strategies with the Children’s & Public Health commissioning arena.

Identify new and innovative approaches to the development and management of procurement and commissioning areas in line with current legislation, best practice and cabinet office guidance.
