We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspirational Teacher of History to join our successful and supportive Humanities department at our school in Sevenoaks.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students through engaging and high-quality History teaching. The successful candidate will encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of historical events and their impact on the modern world.

The Role

The successful applicant will:

  • Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates
  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress to achieve excellent outcomes
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Participate fully in the wider life of the school community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in History or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for History
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • High expectations for student achievement and behaviour
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
