Interim FP&A Lead

Contract: 3–6 Months
Day Rate: £300 to £320 per day

Location: Nottinghamshire (Hybrid)

Distinct is supporting an evolving organisation in the appointment of an Interim FP&A Lead for an initial 3–6-month assignment.

This is a high-impact role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys building structure and creating meaningful reporting, working from a blank canvas.

The business is looking for someone who can quickly assess the current landscape, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement a robust FP&A framework that provides a more holistic view of performance across the business.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of developing and enhancing the FP&A function, with a strong focus on improving reporting, forecasting, and financial insight.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing a meaningful management reporting suite
• Developing regular forecasting and budgeting processes across the organisation
• Building reporting packs and dashboards to support strategic decision-making
• Driving process improvement and increasing efficiency within finance processes
• Partnering with stakeholders across multiple departments
• Providing a more joined-up, holistic view of business performance and future planning
• Supporting senior leadership with commercial analysis and forward-looking insight

About You

• You will have previous relevant commercial finance experience, with experience in establishing processes from scratch
• Strong analytical skills
• Solid stakeholder management skills with finance and non-finance teams
• Experience designing reporting packs and forecasting processes from the ground up
• The ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
• A proactive approach with the ability to quickly identify areas for improvement
• Confidence working in evolving environments
