Reporting to the Director of Buying and leading a team of Assistant Buyers, the successful candidate will help to drive sales, profitability and category management working with the national and international suppliers.

Your New Role

•People management: manage and foster the development of Assistant Buyers.
•Supplier Management: manage the day-to-day supply partner relationships.
•Category Management: have a detailed understanding of the product range both internally & externally.
•Produce timely and accurate business forecasts, including financial forecasts to enable targets to be met.
•Presenting: prepare and deliver presentations utilizing data from multiple sources concisely.
•Decision Making: be capable of making quick decisions based on complex information.
•Negotiation: plan, prepare and carry out negotiation to secure exciting products at the best price.
•Range management: aid the Buying Director on existing and future ranges through utilising several data sources.

Essential:

•Preferred candidates would need to have demonstrated the expected levels of aptitude, motivation, and performance within their existing role to date.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

•Being comfortable having challenging conversations with supply partners.
•A strong level of resilience and the ability to operate under pressure.
•Intellectually curious and takes initiative.
•Self-starter must be productive with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to work with cross functional departments to ensure food safety as a priority.
•Influential and natural leader in an environment with a large supplier base.

Desirable:

•Substantial management experience.

•Salary starting at £63,535 rising to £98,050
•Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with the opportunity of remote working up to 2 days per week, 1 day from January 2027
