HGV Class 2 Driver – Birmingham (Aston, West Midlands)

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham (Aston), West Midlands, on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent ongoing work, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position with a reputable business.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, or Multi-Drop Driver.

Shifts

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 03:00 – 06:00
• Early finishes depending on route completion

Rates of Pay

• £16.00 – £17.20 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As a HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• Carrying out multi-drop store deliveries across the region
• Loading and unloading goods, including handballing where required
• Operating a Category C vehicle safely and efficiently
• Completing vehicle checks before and after shifts
• Ensuring all loads are secured correctly prior to transit
• Using tail lifts and electric/manual pump trucks
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately
• Communicating professionally with the transport team and customers
• Adhering to all road transport and health & safety regulations
• Typically completing 7–8 deliveries or collections per shift

Essential Skills

To be successful as a HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence
• A minimum of 24 months’ Class 2 driving experience
• A valid CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
• No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
• A good level of spoken and written English
• Strong timekeeping and reliability
• A good understanding of road safety and driving regulations
• Excellent communication skills

Desirable (but Not Essential)

• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
• Experience using tail lifts and pump trucks
• Background within retail or store delivery environments

Training Provided

• Full paid induction and ongoing support provided
• Site-specific training on processes and procedures
