Your New Company
Based in Inverclyde, our client is recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The hours of work are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. The location is accessible by public transport, with on-site parking also available. The role offers hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Your New Role
As an Analyst, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of general ledger activity. You'll support the month-end close process, prepare and post journals, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and contribute to both statutory and management reporting. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across finance, support audit readiness, and help ensure compliance with accounting policies, IFRS, and internal controls. You'll also contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial reporting. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and post standard and recurring journal entries as part of the month-end close process.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, reclassifications, and investigation of variances.
  • Validate financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity across subledgers and reporting tools
  • Support the preparation of internal reporting packs and maintain close documentation
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger teams to resolve open items and improve data quality.
  • Contribute to strong financial controls by ensuring timely, accurate, and well-controlled accounting outputs during month-end.



What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have 1-3 years of experience in an accounting support function. You should be confident working with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP and possess strong Excel skills. Attention to detail, resilience, and a service-oriented mindset are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records. Strong organisational and follow-up skills will also be key to your success. This role would also suit a part-qualified accountant who is eager to continue to develop.
