Location: DN20
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Cashier to join our finance team in the DN20 area. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules while supporting the firm’s day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing client and office account transactions in line with the SRA Accounts Rules
• Posting and allocating receipts and payments accurately
• Managing bank reconciliations for client and office accounts
• Handling electronic payments, CHAPS, BACS, and online banking
• Processing bills, disbursements, and transfers between accounts
• Supporting month-end and year-end financial procedures
• Assisting with audits and compliance checks
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
• Responding to financial queries from fee earners and support staff

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm or legal accounts environment
• Sound working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong numeracy and organisational skills
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
• Proficiency in legal accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
