About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Accountant to join a busy Finance team in North Devon. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring transparent, accurate, and compliant financial management across funded programmes and services.

You will support budgeting, financial reporting, and audit processes while helping to maintain strong financial governance in line with regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Support the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with public sector accounting standards and audit requirements
• Analyse financial data to support strategic decision-making
• Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and audit processes
• Work closely with internal departments to ensure accurate financial planning and reporting
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency savings

About You

• We are looking for someone who has:
• A recognised accounting qualification or working towards (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Experience in regulated environments
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and audit processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• Proficiency in financial systems and Excel
